Recognising that general fitness is a key part in promoting a healthier, more fulfilling lifestyle, this year’s show is launching the brand new Active Zone. Joining guest presenter Deanne Berry throughout the weekend will be experienced tutors and specialists offering a full programme of free sessions giving visitors the chance to try out simple Yoga, Pilates and Tai Chi moves and sign up to regular classes available right on your doorstep.
Anyone can join in our Active Health Sessions. They aim to introduce beginners to the benefits of different types of exercise, so don’t be shy, come along and join in - but space is limited so make sure that you arrive early to bag your place!
Deanne Berry
Most recently Deanne has been teaching the nation, along with a host of celebrities, her best known routine from the Eric Prydz video ‘Call on Me’ in aid of Sport Relief.
Each of Deanne’s sessions above will be followed by a quick rehearsal and then the performance of the ‘Call On Me’ routine! Everyone can feel free to join in the fun and bring their own leg warmers / sweatbands /leotards… to get into the 80’s mood! Then a relaxing cool down and Deanne will give away a copy of her DVD to the best ‘Call On Me’ dancer. To practice the 'Call on Me' dance before meeting Deanne please see the how-to video here.
Bristo Yoga School
Bristo Yoga School is delighted to present daily Yoga sessions suitable for all levels. These sessions will be part demonstration, part instruction, and totally inclusive- there will be something meaningful for everybody attending. Participants will be led through a series of asanas, and will receive guidance as well as demonstration to assist them in picking up the basics. There will be a short discussion regarding the philosophy of Yoga and a guided mediation section at the end whilst in the relaxation pose. Loose clothing and a smile are all that is required as mats will be provided. All welcome including beginners.
