Patrick Holford

He is widely regarded as Britain’s best-selling author and leading spokesman on nutrition and mental health issues, hence being frequently quoted in national newspapers from the Daily Mail to the Guardian. Patrick is also popular on radio shows and national television as a presenter, interviewer and guest.

Amanda Hamilton

Amanda is one of the leading broadcasters and writers on nutrition and health in the UK. She has been involved in broadcasting and journalism for over ten years, co-producing and presenting such hit series as “The Spa of Embarrassing Illnesses” and co-presenting BBC2’s highly popular Sunday live magazine show, “Something for the Weekend”. TV credits also include How to Live Longer and “Should I worry about..?” with Richard Hammond. She is also a regular guest expert and presenter on GMTV, BBC, Sky news and BBC Radio. She has authored two books and is a regular health columnist.

Deanne Berry

Deanne is best known for her fantastic dance routine in the Eric Prydz video ‘Call on Me’ which she has just re-recorded for Sports Relief 2010. She will be inviting visitors to join her in the brand new Active Health Zone for free taster exercise sessions. During the two sessions each day (12.15pm and 3.15pm) Deanne will be teaching her world famous dance routine and giving away prizes for the best dancers. See the how-to video here.

Dr Paul Homoky

Dr. Paul Homoky received his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in 1998. Jan de Vries

Jan currently consults at 8 clinics ranging from his Head Office, at Auchenkyle, Southwood Road, Troon, to his premises at 45 Upper Drumcondra Road, Dublin 9, with bi-monthly shop consultations, in Aberdeen, Dumfries, Stranraer and Largs He is also heavily involved in voluntary work in under-developed countries.

Jan lectures extensively in the UK, Northern Ireland and Eire. He is a regular guest on The Afternoon Show on RTE Dublin and on national radio where he has a loyal audience.

Currently he has written over forty books on a myriad of health problems and writes in many magazines and newspapers with regular columns in local papers such as 'The Ayrshire Post' and The Kilmarnock Standard as well as regular articles in The Sunday Post, The Belfast Telegraph and Ulster Tatler.

Marilyn Glenville PhD

Dr Marilyn Glenville PhD is a registered member of the Nutrition Society, a Fellow of The Royal Society of Medicine, psychologist, author and broadcaster who obtained her doctorate from Cambridge University.

Dr Glenville has studied and practised nutrition for over 25 years, both in the UK and in the USA, focusing on the natural approach to female hormone problems. Today she is recognised as the UK’s leading nutritionist specialising in women’s health.

She is the President of the Food and Health Forum at the Royal Society of Medicine and is a patron of the Daisy Network, a charity for premature menopause. Dr Glenville was also formerly an observer on the Food Standards Agency’s Expert Group on the safety of vitamins and minerals.

Dee Atkinson Medical Herbalist MCPP

Based in Edinburgh, Dee Atkinson has been practising as a Medical Herbalist since 1988. In addition to being the Managing Director of Napiers The Herbalists limited, Dee is a council member of the College of Practitioners of Phytotherapy, a member of the EHPA (European Herbal Practitioners Association) and has worked on the Herbal Medicine Regulatory Working Group, a consultation group dealing with the regulation of herbal medicine, products and practitioners.

Since 1992, when Dee took over Napier’s business with its wealth of herbal history, she has been building the practise back up, developing the manufacturing side of the business and re-establishing a traditional herbal house.

Growing up on an organic farm, Dee has always had an interest in natural medicines, and in the healing properties of plants. Having spent time working on health projects in India and Africa, the decision to re train as a Medical Herbalist was a natural move.

Dee also writes regular articles and columns in various newspapers and magazines as well as TV and radio appearances such as GMTV with Lorraine Kelly, and the Beechgrove Garden. In 2006 and 2007 she was voted into the UK’s top 250 private doctors by Tatler Magazine.

Annette Sprague

Native Californian, Annette Sprague, owned & managed the high-end catering company, The Perfect Palate, based in Edinburgh for over five years. She then decided that she wanted to offer her clients the cuisine they had been enjoying for years on a nightly basis and so she opened The Redwood Restaurant.

Annette has over 13 years of culinary experience. She earned her Diplome de Cuisine from the world renowned Le Cordon Bleu, graduating in 1999 with a Distinction for her cooking. Studying French culinary techniques as well as living and studying abroad in Australia and Europe has only enhanced her ability to produce the style of food she loves.

Rachael Forrest

Rachael qualified as an acupuncturist in 2000, after 4 years of study and supervised clinical practice at the Northern College of Acupuncture in York (www.chinese-medicine.co.uk).

She has built on her general experience with courses of further study such as Advanced Needling Techniques. She finds acupuncture a rewarding and fulfilling job and thrives on meeting so many new people and being able to help them overcome some of the difficulties they face.

Rachael also qualified in Maya Abdominal Massage (www.arvigomassage.com) in May 2007 and has attended specialist fertility training workshops by Zita West (www.zitawest.com) as well conferences on fertility (www.naturechild.co.uk and www.afc.com). She set up the Edinburgh Fertility Clinic (www.edinburghfertilityclinic.co.uk) in 2006 to offer a more comprehensive treatment and support network to couples, men and women. As well as acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine, the Edinburgh Fertility Clinic offers nutritional advice, fertility guidance, western herbal medicine, counselling and hypnotherapy.

Nell Nelson

Edinburgh-born Nell has perfected and is perfecting her hobby of gourmet/cyclo touring as the best way to see and discover a country and its cuisine.

Passionate about food and cycling, Nell has cycled and eaten in every country she has visited from Mexico’s cactus-studded deserts to Pakistan’s snow-topped mountains. Her hobby has led to a fascinating career in food and travel writing, writing cookbooks and presenting her own popular eight-part TV series The Woman Who Ate Scotland which was screened on STV in April May 2006 and in UKTV Food Channel on August 2006. The second eight-part series of The Woman Who Ate Scotland was broadcast in Spring/Summer 2007 on STV and UKTVFood and the Asian Food Channel.

At Your Healthy Living Show Nell will be doing a demo with quinoa - that wonderful South American grain you might have bought, but never actually cooked with - and a lovely spicy way to use summer fruits such as nectarines, apricots and pears.

Dr Tom Gilhooly

Dr Tom Gilhooly is a GP with a special interest in nutritional medicine and a founder member of The Essential Health Clinic in Glasgow. Tom specialises in the nutritional management of MS and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and is involved in cutting edge research both in clinic and the newly established nutritional laboratory, Essential Health Diagnostics.
