Bio-D

Q What is your brand’s overall approach to environmental sustainability?

A Committed to being the most responsible supplier of cleaning products in the UK, Bio-D incorporates sustainability in every step of the business: from the products it creates, to its supply chain and day-to-day operations. Using plant-based and naturally derived ingredients that are vegan, cruelty-free, and ethically sourced, Bio-D’s products are manufactured in the UK to help further reduce its impact on the environment.

Q As a company, what are the most important steps you have taken so far to support the environment?

A As well as using plant-based and naturally derived ingredients, all of Bio-D’s bottled packaging is both recyclable and created from 100 per cent post-consumer waste that may otherwise have ended up in landfill. As the first UK cleaning consumer brand to use recycled plastics in its packaging, Bio-D also creates five-litre and 20-litre refills of its products to further reduce its own plastic use and encourage consumers to do the same.

Q Please tell us about any specific environmental initiatives you have in place.

A Last year saw Bio-D work with wholesalers and independent stores across the country to introduce a closed-loop laundering system for its 20-litre refill containers. Stocked at refill stations around the UK for consumers to fill up their own bottles, the 20-litre containers can now be returned, cleaned, refilled, and reused – reducing the amount of plastic used in the business.
